Childhood Physical Fitness
Statistics show that it’s important that children all over the world become more active. With all the new technology, including game systems that are practically in every home now; children aren’t as active. This poses a health risk to children for several reasons. If children don’t get at least an hour of exercise every day, obesity may be a problem for them as they grow. Because of this, it will increase the likelihood of children caring less about their health throughout life. This will contribute to improper diets and lack of exercise which could contribute to health issues down the road. Exercise and aerobic activity is vital to the healthy growth of children because it strengthens their muscles, heart and lungs during the early development stages. Ensuring children are taught the importance of good health is the responsibility of parents and other adult mentors. If you’re concerned these may be issues with your own child, there are steps you can begin implementing immediately. To begin with, be a positive example to your child and make sure you eat healthy. Getting the entire family to participate is a great way to get children to eat healthy. Another way is to be adamant about not allowing your children to eat while watching tv or playing on the computer. As a means of making sure your child has ample opportunity to be active, you ought to limit his/her time on the computer or tv. However, in order for these rules to work, they must be enforced by encouraging other activities. To better motivate your child, the entire family should participate in physical activity together. This can be walking or biking for example. In doing this, everyone benefits. One way to implement proper exercise is to schedule certain times for exercise as a family. If you simply go to the park and play a game of catch, it gives family time together, it gets your heart rate going and it encourages physical activity for everyone. If the family exercises together, this will a better chance to become healthy and teach your children valuable lessons on caring for themselves.
